New Gmail Buttons, Menus and Features
I was pretty excited this morning when I opened my Gmail inbox and found that Google had pushed through some pretty cool buttons and menus. I have been waiting a long time for some of the changes they made to the labeling of emails. This is what the new buttons and menus look like:

Pretty spiffy eh?
Before they made the changes, you had to click the action menu to label an email. The menu was extremely long and difficult to use. They have now separated the labels into their own menu. They have also added the “Move To” drop down menu which allows you to easily move your emails into a different label. Both these menus now also have a search box in them which allows you to easily find labels.
The only thing I still want is the ability to mark an email as read without having to use the actions drop down menu. I usually need to mark emails as read quickly and something like a little “mark as read” button would be perfect for this. It just takes way to long to use a drop down menu.

I don’t worry about marking things read in Gmail anymore. I archive them read or unread.
Hey Stormy,
I use the archive feature extensively as well. I suppose I am just a bit anal about marking unread mail as read.
Thanks for the comment
