New blog template is live!
Wohoo, I can cross off one of my new year resolutions! I have finally finished coding my new blog template and it is now live. It is a very simple template and nothing spectacular to look at, but that is exactly how I wanted it. I was getting sick of intense graphics on sites/templates and went for something simple.
The two main things I wanted to achieve with the new template is a focus on the content (hence the two column layout and the main content on the left hand side) and a highly visible and accessible projects section where I can promote my work. Overall I think I have achieved that and I am very pleased with the final product.
A few notes on the new template:
- This template has not been tested in IE6, IE7 or Safari. I will get around to testing it eventually because I do suspect that the drop down menus will be screwed up and probably one or two other things. You should be viewing my blog in Firefox anyway.
- There is still a bunch of stuff I want to add to the site and I will do so over the course of this year. One thing that springs to mind immediately is a life-stream.
- I decided to stop using categories and just use tags instead. I feel tags and categories are much the same thing and so I removed the categories.
- I still have a few pages that I need to finish and so you will probably find a few dead links floating around on the site. A good example would be the links on the right hand side to the different technology that I use on a daily basis.
And there it is! Hope you enjoy it and come back soon
